Sapa located in the north - west part of Vietnam, about 350 km away from Hanoi.

Today, Sapa is one of the main tourism attractions of the northwest. Main group among them are the Hmong (pronounce as MONG), often referred to as the Black Hmong partly because their dress is a very dark, almost black, indigo decorated with colourful brocade and silver jewellery, but mostly because of their black. Second largest group are the Dao, who also dress in dark clothes. The women of those referred to as Red Dao wrap up their hair in a bright red scarf decorated with silver-beaded braids while those of the Black Dao wear unique headwear — a pile of coiled, braided hair, with an elegant, rectangular pattern of silver metal sticking out of the top.

You are not here to hang out in town, As Sapa is the main base of trekking, hikers launch themselves into a surrounding landscape of rice terraces and little hill-tribe villages that seem to be a world apart.
